After being in storage for 19 years and than spending another six years restoring/customizing it, it's finally back on the road.
I still have some minor things to do but nothing that will get in the way of enjoying the car again after taking it off the road for minor repairs back in 1989.

This car was my daily driver in the '80's but has since spent too many years just sitting in the garage. So in mid 2008 I started what will be a driver-level restoration/customization. The finished car will be used just for fun and local shows.
The engine was rebuilt in 1986, converting to duel SU's with header mated to a TR6 exhaust, bored .080 over, .398 lift - 248* duration cam and 10:1 compression. There's now about 50K miles on the rebuild but it still runs strong.
I've lowered the suspension 2" in the front and about 2 1/4" in the back.
The car's currently primer grey and I cut down a Lexan windscreen and I'm in the process of custom making a fairing for behind the driver's seat. I've completed most of the conversion to chrome but I still have to finish the body work to match the conversion.

Fairing as it is to-date. This is actually only the mock-up. A mold will be pulled from this and the final will be made in fiberglass.
The fairing will have a custom made headrest mounted to it. It will be made out of the covers of the original headrest so it will match the new uphostery.
The engine compartment's pretty much done. The engine has about 50K miles on it since it's last rebuild, but it cleaned up well.

Your car looks great. I'm doing similar changes to my 78' do the new chrome bumpers fit on easily? I see
you need to add some metal below the tail lights, but other than that any problems?

It takes an accepting individual to love a '78. What happened to the black bumpers? The car
looks better for having you as an owner.
