After spending 20-something years in advertising, in 2004 I resigned my positions of COO and Creative Director so I could enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle...a drastic departure from the corporate/ad world. So, at 44 years old, I found myself semi-retired, finally with enough time to pursue my hobbies. I had just finished the restoration of my '64 Porsche 356 a year earlier, so it was time to focus on my '78 MGB. Besides working on my cars, I spend time adding to numerous collections including antiquities, ancient coins, paintings, 18th century European, Chinese and English porcelain and 17th century furniture to name a few. I also now have the time to finish restoring my 1850's era home and carriage house, where I keep the 'B and 356. I'll be 50 by the end of this summer ('09) and I plan on having the 'B done by then...we'll see how that works out. I'm sure I'll come up with another project after that, but who knows what that will be...

Finally Back On The Road

IMGP0376

After being in storage for 19 years and than spending another six years restoring/customizing it, it's finally back on the road. I still have some minor things to do but nothing that will get in the way of enjoying the car again after taking it off the road for minor repairs back in 1989.

This car was my daily driver in the '80's but has since spent too many years just sitting in the garage. So in mid 2008 I started what will be a driver-level restoration/customization. The finished car will be used just for fun and local shows. The engine was rebuilt in 1986, converting to duel SU's with header mated to a TR6 exhaust, bored .080 over, .398 lift - 248* duration cam and 10:1 compression. There's now about 50K miles on the rebuild but it still runs strong. I've lowered the...
