Today I took a peak at the bracket where the tail pipe bracket is. The PO had drilled two holes in the trunk floor pan to jerry-rig a bracket to hang the muffler. The original bracket was torn thru, so I fabricated a replacement piece to weld on to the old one, I will prep this and spot weld it. I will then weld up the two holes in the trunk and paint them. I will decide on a new muffler later to replace the one I have removed, it most likely will be stainless steel since I live in very wet Lane County.
I also removed the license plate bracket and rear bumper, the aluminum trim pieces will have to wait, they are rusted solid in the trunk floor pan.
