The car is a CKD rebuilt in Australia in February 1971. At some point she has had a major restoration. The previous owner had no knowledge of when that was done but it would seem to be over 12 years ago.
When the restoration was done the original colour was retained, the engine bay was largely untouched except for a vacuum-assist brake upgrade and a few mods to the interior such as arm rests to improve long-distance comfort plus a volt meter, analog clock and temperature gauges added above the radio speaker.
She also has a custom hard top which is great on longer trips especially in adverse weather.
The suspension has been upgraded with SuperPro poly bushes throughout and a 3/4" front anti-roll bar. The head was replaced with an "O" series unit mildly cleaned up and with hardened exhaust valve seats, polished inlet manifold, K&N filters and a TT stainless sports exhaust system for a bit more mid-range power.
A four point bolt-in half roll cage has also been fitted. The cage is double braced and has harness atachment points fitted. It is CAMS-approved for club level racing as well as for sprints and hill climbs.
The cylinder head mods plus Superlite centrelock rims (14x6") and Yokohama ADVAN 050 semi-slick tyres have made a big difference to hill climb performance but the Superlites don’t have quite enough positive offset to fit properly so she now also has a set of VTO Classic 8 centrelock rims (15x6”) sourced through Hap Waldrop with Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08R rubber.
