I am living in Boston for the next few months. I am getting married in June and hope to have my 1977 MGB fully restored (or atleast presentable) to drive around this summer. I am debating painting the car myself, but I really would like it to look nice.

Speakers

Posted on: Sunday June 1, 2008

Well last week I decided that the car really needs some tunes. I replaced the 4" speakers in the doors with Pioneer 4" speakers and ran new 12 guage wiring up to the console. I also ran the wiring for 2 speakers to be installed in the rear panel. I bought two Pioneer 6.5" speakers for this. I am thinking the next addition to the system will be a nice reciever that will do CD/MP3 and my IPOD. Hopefully that will all be possible before the summer, but for now it works great with the factory radio.

Nice Drive Around Town !

Posted on: Sunday June 1, 2008

The day is finally here. I took her out for a spin after breaking the clutch free with a little brute strength and a nice hill. All mechanical parts on the LBC seem to work great now. Rebuilt brakes feel strong on the road even when sunday tourists stopped short in front of me. Engine ran well and does not appear to have any leaks. Timing seems pretty good but I still need to check it for sure. I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but atleast the car runs and I can drive around with the...

Big Weekend!

Posted on: Monday February 18, 2008

So this long weekend was spent in the garage. I finally got the engine to run for about 7 minutes before it started overheating. I have run into my next problem, my fans do not run to cool the radiator. So, The car ran, bad starter solenoid, bad wiring to fuel pump and no fans. I still have a lot of work until I can drive it down the street. Spent Sunday afternoon rebuilding the carburetor and getting everything straight with the fuel system. Ran car shortly but it smoked horribly due to the...

Trunk

Posted on: Saturday February 9, 2008

I stripped (where rust was evident), sanded and primed the trunk of my B this weekend. I am hoping to paint the whole trunk black this week.
