Up And Running...and WELL At That!
Posted on: Wednesday March 6, 2013
New gas tank, rebuilt SU pump by Dave DuBois, back-up fuel pump and selector switch installed, some minor "nits" addressed. Compression test shows #4 with lower-than-I'd-like-to-see compression but not a huge issue. Great oil pressure at road speed, dropping to ~50# at idle, and no rattles, clanks or clunks from the bottom end. So far, no "Prince of Darkness" issues. New tires and a retuned dizzy are up next.
The Interior Comes Together

The POR-15 And FatMat Party
Posted on: Tuesday January 22, 2013
After fixing the single rust hole found in the floorboard, it was time to do some addtional prep, and then get some POR-15 down. Went rather well, and hope that it will keep the rust at bay. Then it was time to get some FatMat down...if you EVER do this, hope you like jigsaw puzzles! All in all, happy with the results and looking forward to a somewhat quieter (and cooler) ride.
Interior Work

This little girl had more than a bit of a musty smell, and I was really interested to see what was under the carpet rust-wise. Also wanted to prep the interior to install some FatMat for sound deadening and some heat insulation. Other than one rusted out seat mount hole, everything seems to be in pretty good shape! In honor of my Scottish heritage, I've named her "Bonney" as she's a Bonney (or 'Bonnie') wee lass...a pretty little girl!
