Bought my Dream Car...
I have been wanting and looking for a spit for several years, never wanted\needed to pull the trigger.
Then.....
My son's ( actually mine ) Lincoln Continental went haywire, so I took the opportunity to buy a spit.
I found several on ebay and began comparing.
I settled on a Inca Yellow 1979 spitfire from St. Paul Minnesota.
Being a Green Bay Packer fan I had to save that car from a Vikins fan.
The owner was very nice and had a very nice car at what I thought was a good price.
I drove the car back from St. Paul, and the fun has not stopped. I figured I would have to do some work on it, and kind of hoped I would.
I love to tinker around in the garage, and now have a reason.
The only downside, I was unable to purchase a hardtop from the original seller. He had one, but it was the wrong color and he did not have the mounting hardware. So I drove home with the soft top.
And the fun begins!

Well I have a second car to drive over the winter.. So I get work on the Spit over the winter...
My Mother, and sisters live in Olathe Kansas. So I went for a visit and went to Victoria British. Bought a few parts.
Rear spring Bushings
Rear Radius Arm bushings
Sound Insulation
Door Seals
Window seals
No I need to put it all in!
I started with removing the Rear Leaf Spring and Radius Arms from the car.
Sanded off the rust, put in the new bushings
Put in new Teflon button I had made by a friend in Van Buren, OH.
Primed
Painted Glossy Black
They are sitting on my workbench ready to go back in.
I decided to make the car a little prettier while it was sitting.
I bought a can of Inca Yellow spray paint from my local Napa Store.
It looks great!
I black paint was coming off the front wipers, so they got a sanding, Primer, Black and Clear Coat. They look great!
Now the weather is too cold to paint any further, so I have to wait for warmer weather to do much more.
Very enjoyable winter so far. Hope it turns to an even more enjoyable Spring...
