What a great site! I own a 1948 MGTC, TC 6128 and Engine XPAG 5985. I have owned two TD’s and bought an MGA new in 1957. The TC was a swapped in 1965 for my last 1953 TD which I had done a frame up restoration. The TC was in nice original condition, but in need of a little TLC. The wood behind the gas tank was bad and when I started one thing lead to another. So the car was done from the frame up with all the work done by me. Running down information was a lot harded back the and most of the new parts came from Moss motors. I had access to a company shop and a pattern shop at the time, so I was able to make all the tub wood myself and redid the guts of the steering larger bearings and a new larger shaft to reduce torque bending. The car is painted with 1964 T-Bird “Cascade Green†which is very close to the latter very dark BRG. If you have the time pictures of the restoration is on my page at Shutterfly link is : http://share.shutterfly.com/share/received/album.sfly?sid=0QZMmLVs4Ysnkg&startIndex=0&fid=b17823790a6a39d6
We started a family about that time, moved all over the country and started a business, so the TC when into storage. In the 1990 completed the car and redid brakes etc. Then back to storage again until now. I have retired and have time to work on the car again. Your site is very welcome and looks to be a great help.
