New Tioga Tires, And A Musing On The Final Design:

Hurray for income tax refunds. I have more parts on the way. The tires, tubes, and rim strips came. The first pic shows one, a Tioga Powerblock (BMX racing tire) mounted on one of my rims and inflated. These are gonna be nice. Decent grip under sideload, low rolling friction, especially with the recommended 65 PSI. I should cruise nicely with them.
The second pic was just me playing around at colorizing a B&W picture of the Indy 500 Bugatti. This is the car I'm basing the final design of my velomobile around. I needed to see what it might look like in red - the color I plan to paint my velomobile.

Hello Don, I am glad that you are moving forward in process of constructing your velocar! Red is nice colour and a few of my autos was painted in red, the saem as my present HPV-quadricycle... All of us know that red cars are faster? Keep going... Caio, Zoran P.S.: are the wheels of 20", bicycle diemsnion (something as 16" for motorcycles)? Nice looking!

Thanks. It is good to be back at work on it. Yes, the wheels are 20 inch BMX rims. One of my other journal entries goes into how I put them together. For being so strong and solid, they sure are light, even with the tires on them.
