I bought my 1964 MGB a couple of years ago, it had a 350 SBC-T-10 4-speed combo, otherwise stock, recent OK restoration (nice driver). Due to weaknesses in the basic MGB structure I am upgrading everything underneath. So far I have a CM subframe,CCE triangulated 4-link with coilovers, narrowed 8.8 Ford rearend with 93 Cobra discs, rollbar welded to rocker boxes and subframe, and many small safety and performance upgrades. Was hit and run 10-2013 (need a complete front clip and RR fender), will upgrade everything, in chassis shop now. Can be seen on BangShift.com-readers rides-page 8. GREAT LITTLE CAR

The Road Back

1-10-2014---in chassis shop, not as bad as thought, mostly cosmetic, all front sheet metal and everything in front of engine needs to be replaced, going with new aluminum radiator, wiring harness, exhaust,front suspension(unsure if custom or rebuilt MG

. Have parts car, should be back on road 3or4 months less paint, that comes after it is all worked out.

a 65 or 66 Mustang radiator almost bolts in, most companies have choice
of inlet-outlet location, I am probably going with an ECP radiator with
shroud and electric fan ($425 complete), some friends have used their
products-service a little slow-product good

Just More Money

Looks like going with custom a-arm coilover set-up-maybe 5-lug conversion-will miss wire wheels. Engine out, some freshening up coming,(clutch,etc.) Getting pretty expensive, not sure how elaborate I can afford, work progresses.

am going with full frame, custom A-arms, coilovers, 5-lug hubs and wheels, should be a driver in a couple of months-probably no paint this year

Excellent Progress

The square tube .125 wall frame rails are much stronger than the original front clip--the original front subframe was incredibly thin, surprised it would even hold the SBC, 11 inch discs going on front, CAChassisworks tubular A-arms and billet spindles, custom radiator (still shopping),complete rewire.Am tying the whole frame together with rear tubular subframe to make it a fully braced full frame car, back on road (less paint) sometime in June, cannot wait
