Wore Out Race Engine/new Cruiser Engine
Posted on: Thursday November 25, 2021
Well it was sweet while it lasted (4500mi/4 years), the race engine finally had enough of street cruising (broke 3 roller lifters, wiped cam, when tore apart ALL lower end bearings showing lots of copper/crank scarred pretty bad, short block throw away. Bought a fresh rebuilt street rod style 350 (4-bolt mains, forged internals, 10.5 Compression, CompCams 280H Magnam cam, dual 500 EDLs on a wacky Offy intake.. Started it for the first time last night (11-24-21), after proper cam break-in ran it...
New Engine
Posted on: Saturday November 12, 2016
Got a little carried away with another engine--358 SBC, aluminum rods, billet main caps, BIG solid roller cam (.600 plus lift), ported heads, somewhere between 500hp and 600hp (feels closer to 600hp), actually a bit much. Sounds crazy, VERY fast! It's not the most street worthy beast but fun. Am thinking about another more street worthy engine before next summer, have had some good cash and trade offers for it. End 2015--beginning 2016
Posted on: Saturday January 9, 2016
2015 ended weirdly, after many fun miles the Saturday after Chrsitmas lost oil pressure, the Saturday after New Years replaced a bad oil pump with a loose pick-up, started the year in good shape. Thinking about building a better short block with better heads before body work and paint. The weather has turned bad here in Northern California so have some time to make some improvements for next summer. It was great to have my "B" running for most of last summer.
