Registry: 1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500

Three-year, ground up restoration completed September 2024. Every component was repaired, refurbished or replaced, including bare metal repaint. Factory hardtop also restored. One objective was to bring the car up to UK specs, so engine rebuild included increasing compression to 9:1, addition of twin SU HS4 carbs, mild performance cam, header, etc. Original frame and body panels, entire powertrain (except as modified), factory hardtop, dash and gauges, glass, wiring, luggage rack. Other significant upgrades include Pertronix electronic ignition, stainless steel brake and clutch lines, stainless steel brake hoses, all polyurethane suspension bushings, lowered and powder-coated front springs, height- and ride-adjustable shocks, aluminum radiator/oil cooler/flywheel, machined aluminum front hubs, full 1” front anti-sway bar, drilled and slotted front discs with ceramic pads, rolled front fenders to help accommodate 205/60R13 tires, quad exhaust. All new seat springs, cushions, reproduction houndstooth covers. New carpeting including the trunk. Dealer installed 3M striping kit replicated using NOS striping kit acquired in 2007.
