A well-maintained good road car. Not perfect but a really nice original car. Never rusted and other than some touch-up the paint and interior is original.
Have window sticker and original title.
History: Car was originally sold by Continental Cars-Crestwood in Sunset Hills near St Louis MO. I have the original window stickers.
By the time of the JRT seatbelt recall (5/7/1985), the car was owned by an acquaintance of mine in Barboursville WVa. Jeff moved the car to Wyandot County OH, where his wife used it as a nice-weather runabout.
In 1990 my father (Wyandot County) bought the car. He and my mother used it as a fair-weather runabout and touring car with some Ohio MG groups. I lived nearby at the time, and Dad and I converted it to dual SUs, lowered it (lowering blocks in the rear and shorter springs up front), and replaced the original nonOD with an OD gearbox (complete with proper gearshift knob switch and a new clutch) in 1990. I have a folder with complete receipts for all parts/work during my father's ownership. Some of the other highlights in that list are: new top in 1992, new brake master and slave cylinders/calipers in 2011, new fuel pump and tires in 2014. It has seen very few miles since put away for the season in 2014, as my father became ill that following winter and could no longer drive the car. Other than keeping the tires aired up and the rare drive when I'd go visit, the car was stored under cover in his garage from late 2014 until May 2017.
The car has recently come to me, in CT. In the past month I've serviced the car and driven it only a few miles. It is currently stored under cover in my garage. It has a clean and valid Ohio title and historic registration in my name.
With the car are several boxes of spares including the original intake/carb/emissions equipment, the hood cover (half tonneau), an aftermarket garage car cover, and a factory hardtop with instruction sheet.

Everything is in good condition, a nice clean driver. Other than a small dent in the mid-bonnet, the body work is in great shape. Interior looks tired but is intact. Top has one small (1/4") "pinch" tear. Drives well and pulls strong. It was never used as a show car and would take some effort to bring it up to show standards, although it would do well in a "survivor" category.

The car complete with spares, records, and hardtop is for sale, $9500. An open two-axle trailer suitable for MGB (my former MGBGT rally car haul trailer) is also for sale, $1000, or buy it with the car for $10000 for the package.

Phil, I read with great interest and nostalgia your details on your MG. I am the Jeff from Wyandot County, Ohio who sold the car to your Dad in 1990. I have often thought about the car. I presently have a '79 MG Midget 1500 and have fun with it. I now live in Sandusky, OH along the lake. My personal email is jeffeier@gmail.com. I would love to ask you more about the car. Who knows maybe I would want to buy it again
