“Spitty”
A California owned and driven 1979 Triumph Spitfire 1500 convertible roadster with Euro style bumpers. Presented in pure white with newly upholstered black/ gray original seats and door cards and finished off with a new black vinyl soft convertible top.
This restored California Spitfire is still powered by its original 1500 cc engine and all power is transferred thru a very snappy shifting 4-speed manual transmission. This 1979 Triumph Spitfire received a frame on restoration approximately two years ago which also included the following;
1. Complete respray of body including application of rust proof paint of all floors and underchassis.
2. Rubber bumpers were replaced with chrome bumpers and Euro style overiders.
3. All new weather stripping, windshield rubber retainer and reconditioned carpet.
4. All new floor insulation for heat and noise reduction.
5. New rack and pinion boots, tie rod ends, ball joints, new leaf spring bushings and new adjustable Monroe rear shock absorbers.
6. Replaced with new starter, clutch slave, aluminum radiator, complete set of tires with less than 100 miles on it and aluminum wheels.
7. Stromberg carburetor newly refurbished by SU Carb company, reconditioned electrical wire harness, electronic ignition, clutch and brake system overhaul.
8. It comes with convertible hardtop with new headliner.
So many things to list of what I had performed to make this car of what is it now. The overall condition of the car is excellent. The frame and body are in very good condition with no rust or corrosion present. Passed smog for the last 2 years with current registration and clean
Btw, an aluminum oil cooler was installed too with a push cooling fan.
