“My "B”
Attention:
I am willing to part out, if the right buyer comes with the right size order! I need it to be worth my trouble to part. As you know, once I start, it's a parts car!
So remember, this is a great car to build off of. It's solid and underside is in great condition! Maybe replace a couple of bushings. A new top, paint job and a little engine work, this baby will be humming!
So summer is here what are you waiting for? This is a great 77 "B" that can be back to its original state quickly! You are welcome to see it anytime, let’s talk. Willing to consider all reasonable offers. Really a great restoration project! The last season I drove it around 500 miles, was just busy with life! Been parked on my blacktop driveway. I think, I'll get to it next year. I would start it every week and move it back and forth every week, until the alternator died. I took it out to get it fixed and has been sitting in the truck since. After watching its condition get worse, I have decided to see if I can find a good home for it!
The top was in fine shape, until the plastic rear window let go. So I covered it to hold the weather, as can be seen in the photos. Also, spidering has allowed surface rust to spread and a few small holes, (upper sections) have broken through. The floorboards, truck and frame are all solid, painted wheels; door jams and truck are in great shape and still looks great! Inside is in average shape it does need some TLC to get it back to mint. But the dash looks great and the gauges all work even the clock! It does need to have both horn/directional control arms replaced. I had put in a couple of switches, for control. Also had painted the interior panels and headrests with Black upholstery paint and covered the seats with black covers; I just liked the black interior look better than the tan. It has held up great for these many years but need to be redone or replaced. The windshield, all the glass and trim are fine. Rugs look good, but are old. Also have the top's (Short) cover, with bars! All original jack, tech manual and a parts manual and other things.
Original block/head was replaced when I spun a bearing. Had all the original accessories put back on, also had a new clutch/pressure plate installed. Did lose the original block, so it would be prefect for that small V8! But it depends on what you want to do and spend. A new top, a Macco paint job and some small repairs and you could be on the road this summer, for cheap! Now a complete restoration will take more time. But you'll never find a better vehicle to build from, for the price!
I will be getting the alternator fixed and do a gas change, so I can have it running. For now it does crank over fine, with no problem. I know it will start it if I spent a little time on it. As said, I know with a little work this 1977 MGB is worth every dollar! Remember the greatest thing about this 'B' is the Electronic Overdrive, it was the best thing MG ever did! Well putting window cracks on the "A" was something! This solid MGB would be a great Restoration Project!
