1974 MGB GT w/ Overdrive
VIN: GHD5UE351222G
Engine Code: 18V797AE-L575
National MGB Register #4-1772
Engine runs great with an improved cam giving it a choppy idle (‘75model). Twin SU carbs. Oil pressure is 75lb at speed and 50 at idle. Runs cool and doesn’t use oil. The 3rd/4th Overdrive transmission shifts beautifully and revs low on the interstate for all day cruising. Everything works, all gauges, heater/fan, etc.
The car was restored in the late 90s and painted in the original factory color, Blaze. The front and rear upholstery was replaced in the original style fabric are near excellent. Carpet is good and the rubber mats are close to new. Has a dash cap installed. Door panels are in great to excellent shape.
The bumpers look new only being couple years old as well as the rest of the bright work is in good order and shiny. Paint still shines and looks nice for those who want a daily driver, or if one would want to a period restoration with little work; this would be a great candidate. There are some touch up areas here and there and chips. The hood has two small paint crazing areas (2” diameter) and a very slight dent in the rear license plate area (hard to show in pics). The only body work done appears to be some minor repair on the doglegs. Doors have no wiggle and close cleanly easily. New rear brakes on last spring including: shoes, springs, and cylinders on both wheels. Wheels look great with newer paint and the tires are in good shape as well. Overall this is a great car that you could drive to California in tomorrow.
Extras include: period ANSA exhaust, Moss oil cooler, Mota-Lita leather steering wheel, leather shifter, 3rd brake light, battery cut-off, headlight buzzer, custom cup-holders, CD w/ 4 speakers, and the fresh air vent water free w/ modified Tom’s knob. Radio works fine, but CD has been finicky. There are a few extra parts included as well. Clean NC title. Located in Surf City, NC.
