Registry: 1970 MG MGB GT

A well looked-after driver level MGB/GT, we bought this MGB (well really, my wife bought this as she had fallen in love with MGB GTs after seeing a few in car shows) at the swap meet at the Portland All British Field Meet. It had been generally well looked after and recently repainted. There were several minor mechanical issues that needed sorting, but the car did run and drive as purchased. We've since completely rebuilt the suspension, installed a new exhaust, converted it to wire wheels, with a freshly rebuilt rear axle, restored it to using original rebuilt SU carburettors from a weber downdraft carburettor, rewired the front end of the car and replaced some damaged and missing trim. I've also got new leather upholstery to rebuild the seats which will likely happen this summer, when it's too warm to drive the GT. The goal with this car is for it to be a good and safe driver-level car for my wife to enjoy without a strong emphasis on it being period-correct, so there's some leeway for updating the car for improved driveability and comfort. My wife is still getting used to driving a manual transmission car, but when she's more comfortable with it, we'll rebuild the gearbox, as the first gear synchro isn't working, but the gearbox is otherwise quiet.
