Just painted again for the 4th time since I've owned the car. Was a daily driver, even in the winter back in the day. Had to restore the car in the 80's with new frame and floor. Looks ok and runs like a new car.

Cool looking car. Did you do any bonnet hinge mods as a part of your bumper delete? The bumpers are the least attractive part of the Mk2 IMO.

Thanks Adrian! I didn't do anything with the hinge brackets. I didn't really know what to do about them. I planned on making a stainless steel bracket because the bumperettes are only held on by one bolt now but I have a second bumper that I may cut to just have the corner pieces in place leaving the grill open.

Hi David, like the colour, looks almost black. I have done the same thing with the front bumper delete and just overriders on my 69 gt6. Would love to see more photos of your car, mine is still a work in progress. Not sure about the front air dam, what was it off of?Regards,Paul

Hi Paul, thanks for the comments. Yes the car does look black. It is darker than I planned but it is ok. My car was originally Valencia but I preferred the BL Sapphire Blue. Since the picture was posted I fit white and orange turn indicator lenses and mini lite style wheels. I did go ahead and cut the extra bumper I had so that the hood hinges and the bolt holes are covered again. The windshield tint and the front spoiler came from an accessories place in Rochester, NY. that I bought in 1974.(the parts not the shop) Both were made for the GT6. Some people think I should paint the spoiler the body colour but I like the bolder look. I must say that your GT6 is quite wonderful. I've thought that I'd like to put a V6 in an MGB but I have an extra GT6 running chassis that I'd like to put under a Spitfire. That would be easier for me. You can remove the rotoflex a little easier than the manual says if you remove the inner shaft and then press out the outer shaft. You can leave everything else in place.

Hi Paul, Finally put a few more pics on the site. I was only allowed to add three more because I am not a paying member.
