“Old Number One Or "B1”
I purchased as a wreck in Hobart TAS and fully rebuilt it over 3 years until 1995 then work transferred back to WA. Regretfully sold it around 2001 - New owner got in it following weekend and drove from Perth Western Australia across the Nullarbor to Melbourne VIC then ferried it down to Tasmania and proceeded on to Hobart for the MG Car Club National Meet after which he drove it back to Perth. Total about 8000 k's. He then used it for club racing. Lost track of it since. It was my first car restoration job in the days before the internet and was sort of a rehab project for me too following a bout with the "black dog". One of my biggest regrets is selling it but at least by keeping it on the road it had another lease of life rather than ending up on the scrap heap..
