Long competition history in the USA after 1969. Now being restored to competition level. Will be actively raced again. Please feel free to safely pass me in the corners!

It's my favorite MG.There were many colour styles of '60's front valances. I was just wondering about the orange panel on the front valance of LBL519E. Is it just painted on the original valance or is it a new panel/overlay?I presume the colour was used as an identifier for the pit crew?
