“The White Car”
This is a very late production 67 MGB that I literally pulled out of the barn of the original owner. The story was that he had bought it new while stationed in Guam and brought it back when he mustered out of the Air Force. Gave it to his new wife who drove it until the son was old enough to drive, and he drove it until it burned a valve and went into the garage. When I got it, I pulled the engine and gear box out of my ratty-assed ole 73GT, rebuilt the suspension, lost the horrid red interior (replaced it all with black with white piping), put a heater in it (apparently Guam deliveries were heater delete cars) and drove it to Key West (actually Stock Island) to stand best man at a buddies wedding, then went to Anacortes Washington to cruise the San Juan Islands with another buddy. Drove back down the PCH to Mexico then back to Baja Oklahoma with nothing other than a fuel pump failure in Idaho. I drove it as a rat(realistic patina) for several years until I got all fired up about fixing it up. Bob Webber (SFD) rebuilt and ported the head. I found a decent machine shop in Richmond and did a thorough balance and blueprint, updated to lightened square rods, 20 over shallow dish pistons, 295 cam, ceramic coated exhaust, lightened flywheel (thanks Glen Towery), fresh SU HS-4's (thanks Jimmy Hilton), re-curved 25D distributor (thanks Jeff), and did the assembly myself, making it one of the best running ole B's I've ever driven. Put on some new hubs and a set of SuperLite centre lock wheels(Thanks Hap), and suddenly it needed paint.
Lost my job and moved back to Texas, where I pulled it over to the blaster and had it soda blasted just before taking it over to Shep to do the light body work (fill the holes from removing the side strips, COD, etc) and paint it Olde English White in urethane.
Now, it is pretty much done. I drive it anywhere as it is as reliable as any B can be, and I'm looking for my next road trip.

Nice car and great that you drove it on some adventures. I have a 127000 B car number, so fairly close, but was west coast in Oregon and came with a heater. The overdrive would be nice for long trips.
