My Nigel's a 1958 4 door saloon that I've restored over about 5 years. He's been on the road for almost 4 years. Basically stock, original matching numbers engine, 4.22 diff, 1098 cam and modified head, Morris Major front brakes and alternator conversion
Future plans, mudflaps, external sun visor and more driving!

Ok I'm Roger, and am I glad I keep looking ! I've got a 1959 & 1960,I've only got one engine.So you know I was jazzed to see yhis post .Got a plate left top of engine 9M-U-H-376468 .So what do these other numbers mean? Plus right side stamped 950 then below that 2-10E ? right side rear on block 2A799 then below that is RMC21087-16 ?Man I can't figure this out ,please any HELP!!!!

G'day Roger,The original engine number should be stamped on the body plate, as well as the car type, and possibly the colour.9 - 948ccM - MorrisU - ?H - High compressionThe 950 on the side of the block (usually on the manifold side near the front plate) also designates the cc's. The 2A799 is probably a part number for the block itself, and I haven't a clue what the other numbers mean.I'd say you've got a Morris 948cc standard equipment engine.For body numbers check out:http://www.morris-minor.co.uk/p70.htmCheers,Shawn
