Manifold

Posted on: Saturday December 28, 2019

I took some more parts out of the engine. I'm debating pulling the whole thing so I can clean and repaint the engine bay. I'd have to buy a hoist though. I'm thinking about soda blasting and painting the engine as well. The previous owner put what looks like a whole mess of JB Weld on the exhaust manifold. When I went to disconnect it, I found the manifold was actually broke clean apart. The exhaust itself has major rust and several wholes. Looks like the whole thing needs to be replaced.

In the summer of 2019, I purchased a 1970 Triumph Spitfire Mark III. The the mostly stock car does not run and has not be registered since 2003. The previous owner had it sitting in an outside storage shed where it was used as a nest from squirrels. He claimed he brought it out and started it every year, but it is clearly in need of a lot of work. The last owner did make a few modification. He added an electric fuel pump and a stereo system. Both of these accessories were poorly done. The...
