Birthday Updates
Posted on: Friday May 7, 2010
Well today is my birthday and what a day it has been so far. Went to look at some MGB parts and ended up with a load of them. Among the most notable, a HIF-4 setup (carbs, intake, heatsheild), "Peco" header, exhaust system, transmission, front and rear rubber bumpers, and boxes upon boxes of misc stuff. I won't say what I paid for the lot, but I will say it was a very good deal. Called the machine shop and the engine block should be ready sometime next week. Can't wait to get that...
April 30th 2010 Update
Posted on: Friday April 30, 2010
Pistons have arrived and been taken to the machine shop so they can do final honing of the bore to match the pistons. I would like to thank Basil for such great service. Also got to see the crank being worked. The rod journals were done and he was getting ready for the mains. They hope to have it done sometime next week. I also finally posted a pic of my car as my profile pic. Ain't computers great. More pics and such as it develops. Gregg
Machine Shop Results
Posted on: Thursday April 22, 2010
Heard from the machine shop today. They cooked the block and mag'd it and everything looked good. They had to go .040 over to remove wear from the previous pistons. Also signs of a spun bearing, so it will need align honed/bored. They still have to mag the crank and check the rods. I will post more as it comes. Gregg
