I posted tonight (1/3/12) that I sold the car. Sad, but I think it's for the best. I certainly think it'll be back on the road sooner with the new owner than if I had kept it.

I'm still slowly working on this thing. I guess it's better than some bad habits. I've decided to cut the sunroof skin off and weld on a new roof skin. Sourcing parts and expertise for rebuilding what turned out to be a less than complete Golde sunroof has beaten me. I'll be happier with the hard lid anyway. My DD now is a 2006 Cooper S, so when I want relatively open air driving I'll hop in that. I'll post some pics later this spring/summer after I finish the roof replacement and repaint...

I originally saw this GT in an ebay ad in the spring of '06. I looked it over in the flesh when I went to Reno to pick my daughter up from college for the summer. After mulling it over back home, I decided to buy it, called the seller, and flew to Reno. I drove the thing home to KC over two and half days of nail biting fun. It started leaking from the rear main seal shortly I left Reno and went through almost as much oil as it did gas. Most of the electrical didn't work and the fabric...
