The Right Garage

Since my last post, we moved (twice), and have finally settled in to the house my wife and I expect to send the rest of our days. So after the house was settled, I needed to focus on the garage. It is 14 x 28, which gives me space for one car plus. I have the TR3B and a 1980 MGB, and want to keep both, so the solution: raise the garage roof and put in a lift. The photos are before and after. Back From The Blaster

The body tub and panels came back from BlastLab today. I can heartily recommend Matt's work. No distortions, good coat of epoxy primer. A big milestone for the project. The blasting revealed much more old bondo that I expected. The nose is a complete shambles, and there is even bondo on the left inner front wing! The car took a mighty hit in the front left at some point in its life. Will need to consider what I will do about these damaged panels. First order of business is to repair...
Media Blasting Time

Delivered the body and panels to the Blaster today. Rented a U-Haul pick-up and dual axle trailer. Expect the job to take about two or three weeks. In the meantime, I will install new brake and fuel lines on the chassis.

The body of the car had been sitting on the chassis but not attached, as I did not have room to store them seperately. And several of the body panels were still on the body because the bolts were seized. Spent several days with a drill and hacksaw, and finally got the remaining panels off. Then I reinstalled the tunnel cover, welded angle iron across the door gaps, and lifted the body off using a chain hoist and two 2 x 6 bolted through the windshield wiper mounting holes in the front and...
