1972 MGB Chrome wire wheels & bumper – with OD
Many upgrades and replacements were made over the past 12 years to bring this 1972 MGB to current condition. Pictures and descriptions support a well restored and upgraded which has won two awards since owned at the British Car Days in Dayton, Ohio.
Description:
• Five Chrome Wheels. Tires have less than 6,000 miles
• Over Drive works flawlessly and cruises at 70 turning 3150
• Older blue paint job over Polar White, well done but showing typical road chips only noticeable on very close inspection
• Engine has been rebuilt by previous owner’s mechanic – see new work since I’ve owned. I’ve put less than 25k on her in the last 12 years – car has traveled approx. 122k, perhaps 40k on rebuilt engine – read details.
Brand New:
• Aluminum Radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses, sending unit
• Master Clutch and slave cylinder, Pressure plate, release bearing
• Windshield wipers
Almost new (under 2,000 miles):
• Head with double value springs
• Partial lower-end engine rebuilt (blew head gasket and damaged #4 piston – rest of inside looks very good)
• Distributer
• Carbs rebuilt
• Convertible top with zipper rear window
• Replaced windshield and polished frame
• New slotted & drilled from rotors, pads on all four
• Tube shocks and springs on rear
Nearly new (under 5,000 miles)
• High Torque starter
• Monza exhaust modified to fit correctly – with driver-side heat shied
• LED brake lights (light panels made/supplied by BMC Automotive)
• 3rd brake light LED between boot and body
• Daytime running lights
• Interior lights under dash with dash switch
• Fog lights with dash switch
• Has button to hook garage door opener (not included, wires marked)
• New blue carpet and black panels with blue carpet (see photos) and Chrome window winders
o (seats professionally repaired but now showing one area needing attention)
Additional improvements:
• Chrome luggage rack
• Dual Chrome air-horns (under hood)
• Blaupunkt Miami Beach CD52 Radio/CD
• Blaupunkt speakers and tweeters
• Trailer hitch (for “Time Out” camping trailer w/ 25 lb tongue weight)
• MG Mud Flaps
• Custom side molding (see picture)
Also comes with boot cover and support bar, jack, knock off wheel nuts wrench, and weighted hammer. Fluids are all renewed in rear, trans, engine w/ filter, cooling, greased. I am sure I have forgotten some improvements, but you get the general idea this is a car that has been well-maintained and tastefully improved for safety, function, and looks. Car is ready to roll and enjoy the rest of summer and fall!
Selling to move on to #10 MGB Project – I enjoy the process of restoring to this shape, now to the next MG as my 43 year-long hobby continues.
