Connecticut MG Club Dust-off Rally

Date August 04, 2018The Connecticut MG Club will be holding the rescheduled Dust-off Rally on August 4th. The start location is in Southbury CT. The event will be a 73 mile GTA style rally ending at a family style restaurant. The attached flyer has details for those interested. This event is open to all MG enthusiasts so if you are going to be in the neighborhood, please plan on participating.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM or ask them here. We normally have a dozen or more cars participating. I’m hopeful that with this notice there will be a few more. The route goes thru lots of scenic driving in the western Connecticut hills and has a couple challenges for the driver. A good time. There is no fee. If you’d like to join us let me know so that we can provide the restaurant a head count and make sure we have enough participants key fobs.

CT MG Club Spring 2018 Dust-off Rally
A.k.a. “A pleasant driving tour of picturesque western Connecticut”
This years’ dust-off rally will start in Southbury, CT at the Southbury Green Shopping Center, 775 Main Street. GPS coordinates are 41°27'47.0"N 73°13'53.2"W. Look for and gather near the gazebo . Convenience stores and gas are available at the end of the exit ramp (exit 14, route 84). The “driving tour” will end at a family style eatery where we can enjoy a lunch and the company of our fellow participants while the event results are tabulated.
Plan to arrive by about 9:30 a.m. A drivers meeting will take place at 10:00 am with the first car off by about 10:20 a.m. The driving event is a GTA style (Game Tour Adventure) rally designed to be a low pressure, fun driving tour. Participants will follow a published route, answering a few questions whose answers will be found along the route. Participating teams consist of a driver and a co-driver; navigator. Driving distance will be approximately 73 miles. There will be an opportunity to take a break approximately mid way along the route.
Participants will need to bring a clip board (route instructions are printed on 8-1/2 X 11 inch paper) pens or pencils and some way of keeping track of the time of day and cumulative miles driven.
Come join us and blow the dust off your LBC!

Registration: 9:30 to 10:00 a.m.
Drivers meeting: 10:00 a.m.
First car off: 10:20 a.m.
Car#1 approximate finish time: 1:30 p.m.
Awards approximately: 2:30 to 3:30-ish p.m.
