Definitely do it, Paul. No more paint worries, no more reservoir corrosion, and minimal moisture, if any, in the systems. Everything works just as it did with DOT 3.

I have a 1976 MG Midget 1500, the engine is being pulled today getting it ready to have the engine well & transmission tunnel painted. I want to paint the engine however I'm not sure what type of paint to purchase yet. I'm certainly open for recommendations. I can only wish to have mine LBC look like yours!! Jim, it's just breath taking...all I can come up with is WOW!!!

I have an MGB 1980 which has been repainted and looks just like yours except the paint can says spitfire red. I fail to see any red in the Tartan Red or my Spitfire red all I see is what we use to call back in the day, competition orange. I guess different paint manufacturers label their colors differently. I would love to have 7 MGB's each with a different color for each day of the week.

David, Someone else has made the same comment about it being a New Zealand plate. The plate was already on the car when I bought it and I don't know the significance to the former owner. I like the way it looks so just left it. And "JB" just so happen to be my son's first and middle name initials.

Exquisite car with all the beauty that has made the MGB such a classic. Even though it is a mass produced car, it has a timeless elegance where form follows function is epidimized. My only desire is the sharing of pictures of the underside of the car. This could be an inspiration for our restorations as the top side provides.

Thank you, George. I will be changing photos in the next week or so to reflect changes in the car including restoration of the original Tecalemit oil filter assembly, shifting of the coil to the original position on the engine mount bracket, realignment of the hood and grill, etc. I will add a shot of the undercarriage as well.

Jim, This is by far the best paint job I have personally ever seen! Just took my 1975, 50th. Anniversary to British European Auto, www.BritishcarLA.com for some work needed and could not believe my eyes with all the different British made cars they have for sale, as well as repairing, like the Lotus, but did not see a car close to your car with the paint job you have. Would love to know how long it took to get it like that? Almost belongs behind the museum ropes!
