Bought in '81 when in High School, figuring "it'd do" until I could afford an Austin Healey. Driven as a daily until '88, and a couple of days a week since. I also campaigned her in SCCA Solo events at Sears Point (now Infineon Raceway) from '82-'84 (that's a factory Special Tuning black-glass spoiler that she's worn from new). A few years ago I removed the roll bar and converted her over to a "Gentleman's Car", putting in rear belts and a hard seat based on a GT's rear. My boys (then 4 and 6; now 6 and 8) love going for outings in her. Madge has seen a couple of dozen cars (Fiats, Alfa's, Triumphs and many of the "Big 3"s offerings come and go, but she's remained my favorite throughout. A quarter million miles and she's yet to have her engine all the way out (though it's going to have to happen soon, as her rear seal isn't holding as well as it once did).

I'm finally resigned to the fact that the Big Healey will probably never come, as it would require that I get rid of the old girl, and we've just been through too much together.
I *do* plan to restore her one of these days, but she's driving so well now, and every dent , ding, stain and tear carries with it some sort of memory. I think I'll hold off until... later.
