Car was built in the early 90's for John Mutchner of Terre Haute, Indiana. He retired from racing for health reasons, and somewhat later the car was sold by RM at their Monterey auction to Andy Hauck of Cincinnati Ohio. Mr. Mutchner had installed one of the last race engines built by Dave Tabor of Comptune three races prior to retiring. Andy Hauck placed the car with Kent and Jesse Prather (Prather Racing), and they prepared, transported, and supported it at four races for him. Andy got into SCCA racing and also bought a McClaren Can Am car for Vintage. I had asked Kent Prather about a nice vintage race car in the summer of 2006, and he called me when Andy decided that he would sell. We drove from Chattanooga to Wakarusa, Kansas to see the car, and then made that 1700 mile drive again two weeks later with a friend's borrowed trailer to pick up the car (wish I hadn't been resistant to the idea of going to look at a car and showing up with a trailer in tow - with the Prathers what they describe is exactly what you get). Some health problems of my own (now fully resolved) delayed my getting the car on track. I am planning some initial "lower key" events for April 2008. Projects in process are re-wiring the car, and adding an aluminum radiator and fan (from Prather Racing - for lower key events).
