Advance Auto-Wire Project Complete!

Ken Gill — Posted on The MG Experience
Thursday March 24, 2011 4:35 PM
Finally completed my rewire project using the Advance Auto-Wire kit.
It has worked out beautifully!! Nice to have all the electronics working and reliable.
The PO's had made a real mess of things! A fire waiting to happen!

I was really impressed with the kit from Advance. It took a little longer that I had hoped...working evenings etc.
Thanks to a good friend of mine (Helicopter engineer) I learned a great deal and we were successful.

Just getting my top stitched up, a few loose seams and we will be ready to go!!

Been quite a while since our last post...about 18 months.
Have basically completed the rewire (Advance Auto Wire), it has worked out great!
Have the tach in for a rebuild and the overdrive circuit to complete and we should be ready to start buttoning things up.

The car is running great... looking forward to getting it back on the road for summer!!

Well after years of raising kids, and saving; we have bought our first MGB - June 2009.
1974 Roadster.
Body restoration has been completed (about 3 years ago).
Small spot of rust on driver door...will get this looked at...rest looks really good...passed a detailed "magnet test"
Engine and drive train very strong.
Needs a wire upgrade and some interior detail work.
Hopefully will be a good winter project.
