A Lesson Learned
Created on 2007-05-21 08:54:06
This is the way my car looked Sat. afternoon. We drove it to a party and from there I drove my brother to a store, car ran great and when I came out of the store and tried to start it, it would not hit a lick! I checked the fuel line and ad gas to the carbs. So, I begin looking for fire. Went home and got another coil and changed it out - no luck. Could not find the problem. Disgusted, we hauled it in. Did not even look at it until late Sun. Went to Advanced and bought a new set of plugs, installed them and when I walked around the front of the car to try again, I saw the problem! The plug in the end of the intake manifold had fallen out. I had over-looked this on the side of the road several times. Luckily I had another manifold, and I took ot a plug and put it on the car manifold. Car fired up and purred like a kitten. Goes to show that a man is never too old to learn somthing. I even went back to the store and found the old plug laying on the pavement. How would a plug just pop out? Have you ever heard of this before?
