Rear Telescopic Shock Absorber Conversion
Created on 2007-09-07 20:04:32
Just completed installing telescopic rear shock absorbers (ie dampers to you North Americans) Kit purchased from Nepean Classics near Sydney for $215.Very simple to fit(took my neighbour and me 2 hours) I'm absolutely delighted with the result; the car rides softer, yet paradoxically rolls less in the corners. The car also bounces around much less on rough surfaces. Highly recommended.

Forgot to mention that this conversion uses oil filled NOT gas filled dampers. The suppliers (Nepean Classics)told me they'd trialled a number of gas filled units and they all caused the vehicle to ride too harshly. I've since traulled the net and the non-suitability of gas shock absorbers(ie dampers) on the rear of MGB's seems to be a recurring theme.

Hi,,I have a 64 mgb and I am also considering this conversion,,did it require any re-drilling and was it a bolt on kit, thanks heaps, Barry
