OK, I promised this for May, but My got filled with weddings, holidays, and other events, so it's slipped to June. Let's do it anyway! I invite you to bring your CK out for some run and fun. The course will be grass and gravel: around the barn, through the field, over the creek, and back. We have full shop facilities on site, and a barbeque grille, too. Bring your CK! I will ask the folks from Hemmings to come, so dress for fun, as we may end up with some national magazine coverage.

C'mon Down!

OK, folks we're just a month away. I was out today mowing and starting the course prep (Geez, stuff grows fast around here!). Here's a tentative schedule:Saturday morning about 10 AM: arriving hordes Saturday morning til about Noon: meet and greet, set-up and test (and fix) Saturday at Noon-ish: barbeque ready, let's eat Saturday after noon: let's race! Several heats as practical! Saturday later: fix 'em as needed, pack 'em, sit and gab, plan next event.PLEASE SIGN UP BY MAY 15, SO WE CAN SIZE THE FEAST!Also, unless you've a mind to camp out here, there are two decent hotels within twenty minutes (hey, we live in the countryside...):Hilton Garden Inn, 235 Hoosick St., Troy, NY (844-213-6856), which is almost on the way for folks approaching from south. Or, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Clifton Park , 18 Clifton Park Village Road, Clifton Park, New York 12065 (518 5793000). Both affordable and new-ish. There are actually lots of hotel options in Clifton Park, too. And there's always AirBnB...

The weather looks really good! It's been raining heavily this month, so the soil is soft, but tomorrow, I'll firm up the worst spots and a day of sunshine will do wonders before we get on it. I'm ready with course, pit area, burgers, dogs, soda, chips, and salad. C'mon down!

Well, that was GRAND!!!!! We have just completed the first Northeast Dustoff, and while the soft surface from copious rain through May made it more of a Mud-off than a dust-off; it was a thrilling afternoon of new friends, cyclekart tech and exhilarating racing. We had three operational CKs at the start: the Aluminum special of Ron Buttner, the 27 Salmson of mine, and then the BEAUTIFUL Bugatti of Nick Walters. It was the first-ever outing for the first two, so they found some weak spots, and indeed, in the end, Nick's car won both the Concours and the Enduro! We did tech, we did runs, we had food and drink. Life doesn't get much better than that. I'm compiling photos and video now. Watch for a posting soon! Thanks to all who came and all who tried to come. All up we had about 13 people with us and any who wanted to got to try out a CK on the course. At least two were interested in CKs and left the day ready to build.
